This is Vida Stan's Nest 48 or better known as the gun battery at Long Sommer on the coast of Normandy .

Each of the four case mates for the guns is an M272 Regal bow or standard design case mate.

Each one took 600 cubic meters of concrete and four tons of reinforcing steel to make it.

The walls and the roofs are over 2 meters thick, so they were really capable of withstanding naval gunfire, artillery fire onto their positions here.

World War 2 Wayfinder travels to the site of D-Day landing on June 6th, 1944 .

Visits the extreme western flank of Gold Beach , Long Summer, where the Mulberry Harbour was and still remains to this day .
