Abbott vows pay raises for teachers and more property tax relief

Gov. Greg Abbott held his sixth State of the State address in front of 1,100 people at Arnold Oil Company in Austin .
Abbott touted the state’s business-friendly reputation saying it has been named the best state to do business in for two decades .
He also called for policies that push forward culture wars on immigration, continued restrictions on the rights of transgender Texans .
Abbott calls for further investment in nuclear power, saying he wants the state to be a leader in the field.
The governor also declares teacher pay raises and expanding career training emergency items.
Abbott prioritized legislation that would allow parents to take public dollars toward their child’s private education.
Abbott said more than 30 states already have “school choice” initiatives.
Abbott calls for tougher bail laws for repeat offenders.
He calls for the creation of a “Texas Cyber Command’s” in San Antonio .
