PromptLayer has raised $4.8 million in seed money for its prompt management tool.
PromptLayer is a tool to help app developers manage the prompting process of AI chatbot apps.
It's now being sold to third -party businesses to support their development of AI apps.
The startup is deliberately focused on non-technical users.
PromptLayer is building tooling for the non-technical, rather than the technical side of the AI tooling market.
Founder and CEO Zoneraich says prompt engineering is not 100% correlated with engineers.
PromptLayer 's seed round will be used to expand the team (currently eight -strong), with a focus on adding engineering talent.
PromptLayer says they have over 10,000 free and paid customers who have gone through their website.
The startup has also seen 13x revenue growth this year — and it claims this rapid revenue growth is through word-of-mouth.
“All it takes to fix these prompting problems is you go, you change the prompt, and you see how the results are — and we have a lot of tooling to help you do that at scale,” says Zoneraich .
