Doug Ford kicked off his election campaign in Windsor West wearing a ball cap emblazoned with the catch phrase: “Canada Is Not For Sale” The test now is whether the dicey geopolitical climate will capture the attention of voters and potentially send more to the polls on Feb. 27 .

Ford had been teasing an early election for nearly a year , his decision to call it last week arrived as U.S. President Donald Trump threatened 25 per cent tariffs on all Canadian goods.

Miljan worries that other parties are already at a disadvantage with candidates yet to be named in key ridings.

The Ontario Liberal Party had still not announced candidates for the Windsor West and Essex ridings. The Green Party of Ontario had also not named candidates for Windsor West , Windsor-Tecumseh , or Essex.
