NDP blames Trump while axing promise that should never have been made

64% Informative
B.C. NDP has shelved a $ 1,000 -a-year grocery rebate that costed at $1.8 billion from the outset.
The rebate was injected into the election platform in a bid to hang onto power against the Conservative Opposition .

But in the end, they concluded to simply proceed, leaving enough leeway in terms of contingency funds to cover the unexpected. “We will have to make some very difficult decisions,” said Bailey . Perhaps she and her colleagues will make some tough calls in the budget they present early next month . But Thursday ’s announcements — a dubious hiring freeze, scrapping a reckless promise that should never have been made in the first place — don’t strike me as especially difficult..
