His father, John Nelson , LED a jazz group called the Prince Rogers Trio and his mother Maddie Shaw was their lead singer.
Prince grew up with the sounds of Santana , Larry Graham , and Fleetwood Mac .
He committed his energy to developing a successful music career because he thought music was the only thing he was truly good at.
Prince was married to Maite Garcia in 1996 .
He left Warner Brothers after four years of marriage.
His first independent production was the 36 track album Emancipation .
In 2014 , Prince and Warner Brothers reconciled 18 years after their very public split.
On April 15th, 2016 , Prince was headed home on his private plane when he suddenly fell unconscious, forcing the plane to make an emergency landing and him to be rushed to the hospital.
