First (and last?) look at Intuitive Machines' next moon lander's footpad designs (photos)

Intuitive Machines shared photos of its second lunar lander, " Athena ," as it was encapsulated within a protective fairing for its liftoff.
The photos show the bottom of some of the probe's six legs' footpads are in view.
If all go to plan, the footers will be hidden when Athena lands at Mons Mouton , a lunar highland.
Robert Pearlman was inducted into the U.S. Space Camp Hall of Fame in Huntsville , Alabama in 2009 .
He was honored by the American Astronautical Society with the Ordway Award for Sustained Excellence in Spaceflight History.
