The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ) has been in limbo since February 10 .
The National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU) filed a lawsuit in an attempt to stop the agency from being shut down.
CFPB employees offered sworn statements that they have been told not to work and have, in fact, been informed by senior staff that most of them will eventually be let go.
