Out-of-date polls to wrong aid amounts: factchecking Trump’s Congress address
72% Informative
Donald Trump's marathon address to a joint session of Congress was littered with false claims.
The president repeated one of his new favorite lies: that the United States has given Ukraine $ 350bn since Russia ’s full-scale invasion in 2022 , and Europe has given just $ 100bn.
There is no evidence that any such scholarships were planned for Burma .
Trump cherry-picked an out-of-date poll to suggest that most Americans say the US is now going in the right direction.
However, that same polling firm’s most recent survey, this week , shows that 45% of Americans now say the country is on the right track.
Other polling firms, not associated with the Republican party , show that more Americans say they are on the wrong track now than right.
