Former Tennessee state Sen. Brian Kelsey had pleaded guilty in a federal campaign finance conspiracy case.
Kelsey was released from a federal prison camp in Ashland , Kentucky , on Tuesday .
"His election saved me from the Biden" Department of Justice , Kelsey says.
The White House and the DOJ have not issued statements announcing Kelsey 's pardon.
CPAC fully supports President Trump using clemency powers to address politicized prosecutions of the past.
"We are particularly pleased that former Tennessee Senator Brian Kelsey was pardoned yesterday ," a spokeswoman for CPAC said.
"Neither CPAC nor Matt Schlapp were ever a target of this investigation," the spokeswoman said.
