Project 1794 - The US Military's VZ-9 Avrocar Flying Saucer

Project 1794 Final Development Summary Report was declassified by the United States Air Force in 2012 .

Project Y was the result of considering such a development in combination with supersonic speed advancements in the 1950s .

Jack Frost , John Carver Meadows Frost was the mastermind behind the Avrocar flying saucer.

The Avro CF1O5 aero program was cancelled by the Canadian government in February of 1959 .

The WS6O6A, the expected final version of the flying disc, was cancelled.

The second prototype of the Avro car logged around 18.5 hours of total flight time.

The two models of the Avro car produced belonged to the United States , but the second model was linked to Canada for display. After being outdoors exposed to the elements, it was sent to the US Army Transportation Museum in Virginia for restoration. The first Avrocar was sent to the National Air and Space Museum in Maryland , but was in storage until the National Museum of the United States Air Force in Ohio borrowed it.
