National Park Service rangers told to avoid the word 'fired' and not blame cuts on staffing levels

As a result, visitor centers have reduced hours , tours of popular attractions have been canceled, lines have spiraled, bathrooms may go uncleaned, habitat restoration has ceased and water has gone unchecked for toxic algae.

Great Basin National Park Foundation bristled at the idea that parks can continue to provide the same level of “memorable experiences” with the cuts.
